🧛 Hey goblins!

According to Instacart, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups are the most popular Halloween treat in Nevada.

Stock up on a few extra bags. We’re just one day away from handing out candy to trick-or-treaters — and two days away from binging on leftovers 👀

What Las Vegas's Talking About

👮 Did Police Violate Civil Rights on Video?

Remember this viral video of thin-skinned police officers making an aggressive arrest during a June ICE protest? Well, Metro is now facing a lawsuit by the woman cuffed while filming the encounter. [Las Vegas Review-Journal/KSNV]

🎰 Casino Bandit Caught Down South

What do the M Resort, Gold Coast, Green Valley Ranch, Silverton, Rampart, and Palace Station all have in common? According to police, their casino cages were robbed by the same guy, who was just arrested in Miami for trafficking and “violent crimes.” The criminal resume is strong with this one. [KTNV]

🐘 Vegas a Contender for MAGA Fest

President Trump wants an “entertainment-heavy” midterm GOP convention next year and Las Vegas is emerging as the top contender to host it. Texas and Washington, D.C. are also in the running. Midterm political conventions aren’t unheard of, but fell out of favor decades ago as a waste of time and money. (So … perfect for 2025.) The Democrats are considering one too. [Wall Street Journal]

🎰 The Pros and Cons of Cashless Gambling

No matter what, gambling will always be the #1 form of entertainment in Las Vegas, but are casinos making it too easy to blow through your bank account? City Cast Las Vegas looks at new technology that can connect your bank account directly to a slot machine — and why it could be both a good and bad thing in a notoriously addictive pastime. Where to Find a Good Pumpkin Spice Latte in Las Vegas

A freshly made Pumpkin Spice Latte at Take It Easy Roasters.

Yum… (Take it Easy Roasters)

It’s Pumpkin Spice Latte season. Skip the big chains and artificial ingredients for fresher flavors at some of the best local coffee shops in Vegas.

☕ Whether in Henderson, Summerlin, or the Arts District, Makers & Finders uses a vegan pumpkin spice sauce that’s made fresh weekly with organic pumpkin puree, coconut milk, maple syrup, granulated sugar, pumpkin spice seasoning, sea salt, and vanilla. Ask about alternative milks to make the latte completely vegan — or load up on whipped cream if you’re not worried about dairy.

☕ Sister concept Take It Easy Roasters in Chinatown uses the same PSL sauce but with the option of a chantilly rim with grated nutmeg.

Urth Caffé uses heirloom coffee beans for a smoother, lower-acid taste. Try ‘em in the Pumpkin Pie Latte, made with real pumpkin puree folded into milk with crumbles of pie crust sprinkled on top. Ask for a slice of pumpkin pie on the side — so good, it’s served year-round. Urth Caffé has locations at UnCommons, the Wynn, and The District at Green Valley Ranch.

Vesta blends its own pumpkin puree, brown sugar, and spices together for an in-house syrup. The latte, made with house-roasted beans, is less sweet than you might expect, but thicker in texture. Try it with locally made almond milk in the Arts District, near Summerlin, or at one of two counters at Durango.

☕ Longtime local favorite Grouchy John’s serves up a house-made PSL that uses real pumpkin every fall, and you can opt for hot, iced, or blended versions. Pay a visit in the south end of the valley, Centennial Hills, or wherever their food truck makes an appearance.

☕ Southern California’s Better Buzz Coffee debuted in Nevada last year and already has locations in Henderson, Sunrise Manor, and North Las Vegas. You’ve got three choices for seasonal pumpkin yumminess. The latte uses a spiced and sweetened organic pumpkin puree sauce with two shots of espresso and steamed milk (or served over ice) with cinnamon sugar on top. The same puree is also used in a Pumpkin Spice Chai, blended with vanilla chai and a cinnamon-nutmeg topping. The Pumpkin Cold Brew has a spiced brown sugar flavor with pumpkin-vanilla foam and cinnamon sugar.

Hooray!

🪤 The mouse is in the house 👀

For once, the sight of Mickey Mouse in front of the Bellagio will be legit 👍 Disney characters are on tap to lead a performance by the fountains during F1 week with music and pyrotechnics.

If it goes well, maybe Vegas will score our own Disney park in the future 🤔
