😻 Hey, Nashville! I’m so excited to introduce our talented City Cast Nashville podcast host — Grace Fuisz, an award-nominated podcast producer and singer-songwriter. She comes to us from iHeartMedia’s NBA slate, and got her start with podcasting at the Nashville Entrepreneur Center. She fell in love with Nashville at a young age through Dolly Parton, and I think many of us can agree that Dolly is one of the best parts of Tennessee. I can’t wait to listen in on the first City Cast Nashville podcast. Here’s a bit more about Grace!

How long have you lived in Nashville?

“I’ve been settled here for five years now! I visited for the first time in middle school, came back for a choir trip in high school, and stayed here for a summer in college while interning at Lightning 100. Each time I visited, I discovered new communities and pockets of the city that surprised me and made me fall even more in love. I moved to Nashville straight out of college and haven’t looked back.”

What’s your favorite part of living in this city? And the most frustrating?

“In the style of Bacon’s Law, my favorite thing about Nashville is that after living here for only a little while, I rarely meet a stranger who I don’t have some peripheral connection to. I hear the phrase ‘Nashville is a small town’ more than I’d expect to in a city of nearly 700,000 people, and that connectedness is comforting to me. Despite the small-town-feel, Nashville has everything I’d ever want out of a big city — every kind of food I’d want or event I’d like to attend, and an incredible, diverse population of folks with an overwhelming willingness to help one another.

“My least favorite thing is the number of potholes on Ellington Parkway right now, and the number of flat tires I’ve gotten in the past year (unrelated).”

What are you hoping to achieve with City Cast Nashville?

“I’m hoping to shine a light on the lesser-known communities around the city and find some common ground between the divide of old and new Nashville. I want to hear from Nashvillians about the everyday issues that are affecting them, and the everyday stories that could only take place here. I can’t wait to get the conversation started, and learn about the sides of this city that I haven’t personally discovered yet.”

City Cast Nashville (and Hey Nashville)’s official launch is coming soon, and we’re looking forward to bringing y’all the latest happenings in our city.

Have fun and stay safe out there in the meantime!
